That will mean using your technical knowledge and client facing experience and working with our Senior Managers and Assistant Directors to help clients from all industries and make strategic and operational changes about their businesses. The opportunity

With our support you'll work with a range of regulatory projects within Retail Banking. We're currently growing our Regulatory Advisory team across all capabilities to help meet increasing demand, this is true of the Retail team as we have a number of large scale projects for some of the UK's biggest Banks. Our engagements typically involve managing multiple stakeholders and require you to give the best advice to our clients using your knowledge and experience to provide the best outcomes.

Your key responsibilities
  • Advise clients with deep technical insights and build credibility based on an understanding of their challenges related to technical matters.
  • Assist in preparing risk assessments and annual plans for financial services clients.
  • Provide high quality, professional day-to-day execution of engagements and projects in line with firm risk management practices for the financial services practice.
  • Work on project teams focused on advisory projects and assist engagement management to successfully complete engagement objectives, including: priorities, working papers, internal reports, program development, milestones, roles and responsibilities, risks, outputs, and engagement economics, update stakeholders and escalate scope changes/timelines/issues as appropriate.
  • Supervise project work prepared by more junior professionals, providing feedback and guidance on quality outputs.
  • Develop ideas to expand EY's current offerings and initiate discussions with clients. Identify and communicate findings to senior management and client personnel.
  • Understand firm service offerings and mentor associates, interns, and new hires.

Skills and attributes for success
  • A clear understanding of the strategic implications of regulation
  • Being able to effectively implement a variety of regulatory directives
  • Building relationships with colleagues across the business, supporting them and promoting a collaborative culture
  • Being involved in remediation of regulatory issues
To qualify for the role you must have
  • Regulatory experience at the FSA/ FCA, a FTSE 100 Financial Services organisation, one of the other Top 4 consultancies, or another Advisory firm
  • Knowledge of FCA handbook including; Conduct of Business, SYSC, and DISP
  • Strong academic background which could include: 2:1 degree, CII Exams (FPC / AFPC), CISI Level 4, Prince 2, CeMAP, CeFA and / or Other Financial Services qualifications
Ideally, you'll also have

  • The ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Strong business acumen
What we are looking for

You'll be a trusted business advisor to our clients, specialising within regulatory matters. You will have strong experience of Retail Banking and related products. Ideally you will have experience of one or more of the following - S166, Ring fencing, Consumer Credit, Product & Customer reviews, Enforcement cases and p reparing clients for Regulatory visits or upcoming Regulatory changes. This is ideally suited to professionals who enjoy working in a collaborative and teaming environment.
