About the Tribe

Data Services Customer:
As a Data Analyst, you will form part of the Data Services Customer Tribe within Data Services Domain.
The main focus of our Tribe is to create a system of people, process and technology (on premise and cloud), built for agility, to provide data and capabilities for our customer facing business areas (Retail, Small Business and Institutional) to create business and customer value, by being in the moment with our customers.

What does a 'day in the life' look like:
  • You will lead collaborative teams to understand business challenges and support the accompanying data analysis needs, including working with source system SME’s to acquire data, cleanse data, apply modelling and integrate with other data assets on both on-prem assets including Big Data, RDBMS and ANZ cloud data platform on Google Cloud
  • Utilises tools and practices to build, verify and deploy solutions in the most efficient ways, enhancing Data Services capabilities
  • Implements a culture within the Tribe and the Chapter, encouraging best practices around reviews, quality and documentation
  • Be an Advocate for Data Analysis, contributing to communities, meetups and conferences to promote technology development culture and practices
  • Provide ongoing support for platforms as required e.g. problem and incident management
  • Creates estimates and continuously reviews demand within the individual Squads/teams

    What will be in your toolkit:
  • You display a strong aptitude to connect business problems with required data elements.
  • You enjoy leading teams and promoting a high performance culture within you chapter. Leadership is a key element of this role.
  • You have strong data wrangling / data transformation abilities across large, complex relational and non-relational datasets using languages such as R, Python and SQL.
  • You have strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and report on significant amounts of information. Attention to detail and numerical accuracy is a must for this role.
  • You have proficiency using big data platforms such as Spark, HBase, Flink and Kafka.
  • Ideally you have a good understanding of interconnections between complex systems, large scale web architectures and have general knowledge of agile software development concepts and processes.
  • Experience working with Cloud Platforms (GCP, Azure or AWS) would be a nice to have.
