Technical Solutions Architect

Job Functions: Gather business, user and application requirements for desired levels of security, performance and availability Determine appropriate specifications, capacity and redundancy for network, server and storage solutions to satisfy agreed requirements Ability to manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure Oversight of infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software and system management tools Ability to see potential issues and proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure accessibility Monitor and test performance of applications, foreseeing potential bottlenecks and identifying possible solutions Ability to work with development team to implement fixes and tune design systems Continual evaluation of security, including backup and redundancy strategies Competency in writing and maintaining custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower downtime due to required human intervention Desire to work alongside the team to help design information and operational support systems Design and implement security systems and redundant backups to maintain data safety Work to provide 2nd and 3rd level support where applicable and Troubleshoot and resolve issues and problems affecting performance and availability Excellence in communication as a liaison with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve issues Procure or provision physical, virtual or cloud server and storage solutions from vendors and service providers to meet or exceed specifications Develop and maintain documentation of solution designs and implementation for required support and desired optimization Participate in annual Disaster Recovery exercises, recommending and implementing required changes to ensure recovery within required standards Execute operational or data processing functions as necessary to support solution and project delivery Perform other duties assigned to support business strategy and operations Qualifications and Experience: B.Sc., Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering or the equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution Level 1: CompTIA Server+ OR Microsoft MCSA: Windows Server 2012/2016 Level 2: CompTIA Cloud+ OR Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate Level 3: CompTIA Security+ OR MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Minimum two (2) years' experience in infrastructure design, implementation and support Experience in designing and provisioning enterprise systems on cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft AzureAS400 knowledge and experience
