Job Functions Conduct loan application interview with potential mortgagors visiting the Mortgage & Lending Centre, those referred by the disparate sources Acknowledge potential mortgagors assigned by Manager - Lending Solutions, or their designate Provide accurate information regarding the suite of lending products offered by the Society. Provide simple step by step explanation to the prospective mortgagors, the procedure involved in processing an application, estimated time and cost associated with the mortgage loan and the Society's lending policy. Provide prospective mortgagor with loan application packages, listing the required documents for processing of the application. Accept and upload documents and data to the electronic mortgage software, and begin processing of application where the criteria for acceptance have been met. Confirm the validity of all documents received from applicant Review the documents submitted to confirm eligibility of the applicants in keeping with the Society's lending policy. Review income provided by applicants and confirm the adequacy of the Debt Servicing Ratio (DSR) in keeping with the Society's business policy Assess the loan amount requested and the purpose for the credit. Request report from Credit Bureau and check the performance of the applicant on any credit previously granted by other financial institution(s). Where the applicant is a company or self -employed, in addition to the other checks, assess the applicant's capacity to repay. Review and provide background information on shareholders, directors and beneficial owners. Assess the financial statements for the company. Review valuation report to determine the Loan to Value ratio (LTV) and the suitability of the real estate as security for the mortgage loan. Provide inspection report indicating the condition of the property and the state of repairs. Submit recommendation to the Underwriting Unit for approval of the mortgage loan. Discuss underwriting decision with applicant. Provide applicant with decline letter if the loan is not approved. Provide applicants with offer letter for signing if the loan is approved. Receive signed offer letter from applicants ensuring all conditions necessary to facilitate the generation of the commitment letters are adhered to. Provide applicants with timely updates during the loan origination process. Conduct closing interview with mortgagors prior to the dispatching of the monthly payment advice. Provide guidance to branch network on the various loan types available and the relevant processes in keeping with the Society's lending policy. Ensure that information accessed is handled in accordance with the Information Security (IS) policy. Contribute to the client satisfaction experience through constant interaction with team members and clients to ensure the highest service level standards are attained. Interview clients and make recommendations regarding products and services offered by other SBU's within the Victoria Mutual Group. Guide clients on relevant procedures for executing transactions relating to services offered by the Society Provide clients with timely updates on instruments maturing, and ensuring their instructions are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.. Receive, verify and ensure that clients' requests are actioned relating to payments, standing orders, receipts, letters, statements, etc. within a timely manner. Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Finance, Economics or equivalent qualifications from a recognized tertiary institution. Three (3) years' experience with at least two (2) years in the financial sector in a similar capacity
