Manager - Consumer Lending

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Approves credit applications outside the Branch Managers' lending authority and outside policy guidelines, which are within delegated lending limits and where necessary, recommends to the Head- Retail Banking and the General Manager Retail and Commercial Banking Provides feedback/guidance to Branch and Cluster Managers on prevailing Credit Policy guidelines and on potential business being solicited Oversees the pricing/re-pricing of residential mortgages indexed to the Mortgage Market Reference Rate and provides information to Finance & Planning on this portfolio to aid in the preparation of Central Bank quarterly returns Conducts Consumer Lending and Mortgage Lending training programmes Formulates changes to Consumer and Residential Mortgage interest rates as well as lending guidelines, based on feedback from the Branch network and competitor analyses for review by the Head Retail Banking/General Manager Retail and Commercial Banking and approval by the Assistant General Manager Credit Risk Management Formulates action plans to be adopted by the Unit to reduce loan exceptions in the Branch network as highlighted in the On Site Monitor Reviews and audits conducted on the Consumer Credit and Residential Mortgage Loan portfolios Prepares correspondence for dispatch to the Branch network on aspects of the Consumer Credit Policy and Residential Mortgage Policy guidelines which require reinforcement or further clarification based on Audit findings and quality of applications sent to the Retail Banking Unit Ensures specific delinquency reports are prepared for the Consumer Credit Portfolios of the Retail Branch network for submission to Senior Management to facilitate the close monitoring of the quality of these loan portfolios Provides input to the formulation of the budget and monitors expenditure for cost items which fall under the purview of the Manager Consumer lending Performs all other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned by the Board of Directors and Senior Management relative to the function QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in a Business related field from a reputable University or other professional qualification from a recognized professional body e.g. CFA, CIMA, ACCA and five (5) years progressive experience in Banking, at least two (2) of which must be at a Managerial Level
