Assistant Accountant - Edinburgh Practice

Pertemps Specialist Division are currently working with a well-established, growing practice firm in central Edinburgh who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their team due to internal promotion and continued growth of the business. This is a fantastic organisation for candidates looking to gain more experience in accounts and progress their studies to become a fully ACCA qualified accountant.

Main duties will include;

• Maintain Fixed Asset register – adding new assets and posting depreciation
• Quarterly VAT returns including analysis and reconcile to balance sheet codes
• Preparation of year-end accounts, corporation tax, and personal tax
• Reallocation of costs between overheads and contract costing
• Overhead accruals and prepayments
• Analysis of various overheads for reporting to each cost code
• Debtors / accruals and accruals days report
• Group Overhead Report

Skills required include;

• Substantial experience within a practice firm, within the finance function
• Studying towards your ACCA or CIMA qualifications (Part-Qualified)
• Previous experience with Xero and IRIS
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Comfortable using cloud technology
• The ability to work to tight deadlines
