Job Title: Financial Accountant Location: Trinidad Expected Starting Period: First Quarter 2019 Summary/Objective: The FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT is responsible for accurate and timely data accumulation, monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of various segments of the business operations within the organization while adhering to approved processes, procedures and strict deadlines. In this capacity the Financial Accountant will be expected to proactively engage in comprehensive analysis and provision of timely and relevant information in support of the Finance Team, Department Heads, Administrators and other internal customers to enable effective and efficient budget, revenue and/or cost management and to support appropriate financial control. Main Duties & Responsibilities: a) Continuously seeks and capitalizes on opportunities to exceed the expectations of customers (internal and external) by placing a keen interest on understanding and effectively resolving customer-impacting issues in a professional and result-oriented manner. b) Preparation of journals to enter into the general ledger. c) Posting of batches into the general ledger. d) Preparation, reconciliation and analysis of assigned monthly schedules/reports. e) Collation of data for monthly accruals and prepayments. f) Analytical review of budget vs. actual variance reports for assigned departments. g) Provision of Support to Finance team in instances of staff absenteeism. h) Work with business owners from affected business areas to understand current process and to document and prioritize requirements. i) Performs related work: the duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Qualifications: ACCA Level 2 qualifications OR Bachelor's degree AND related certification OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three (3) years' experience performing similar role / duties. Experience in and with the mobile telecommunications sector would be considered a valuable asset. An acceptable combination of academic qualifications and work experience may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements.
