Interim Management Accountant

The main focus of the Interim Management Accountant position, based in Sheffield, is to be the finance lead for an area of the business that has recently been absorbed by a larger section of the company. This will involve preparation of accounts, analysis, KPI setting and business partnering with the wider organisation.

Description

The Interim Management Accountant role, based in Sheffield, comprises the following responsibilities, among others:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, manage month end close process, reporting on variances, resolving issues

• Be involved in key project work around developing the integrity of the balance sheet including reconciliation

• Periodically reporting to the SLT and other areas of the business on KPI's

• Monthly reporting on P&L and Working Capital and support the quarterly production of the board pack

• Prepare cash flow forecasts, looking at ways to improve the current process and prepare variance analysis against previous forecast

• Perform analysis on financial performance and prepare business plans for future projects

• Act as the key business partner to the SSC functions, interpret data and create usable information which highlights and areas of inefficiency, trends and challenges

Profile

The ideal candidate for the Interim Management Accountant position will have the following attributes prior to applying for the position:

• Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA would be ideal. However, my client will consider experienced QBE candidates with the right background and skill set

• Able to pick things up quickly in a fast paced environment

• Strong IT skills with excellent working knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint

• Experience of commercial management accounting in a large business ideal

• Need to be able to start as soon as possible

Job Offer

6 month FTC with potential to go permanent towards the end, either in this role or elsewhere in the business

£40,000 - £45,000 equivalent depending on experience
