Key Accountabilities

Governance Framework
  • Manage the development of efficient and effective a group-wide governance framework in order to support group-wide stratification of assets, and to drive consistency and transparency in group-wide financial practices.
  • Promote best practice financial governance practices in JVs and minority shareholdings, as applicable, so that Mubadala is able to effectively support and advise investee companies on all aspects of finance and financial governance.
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues across Group Finance to consolidate relevant financial governance information related to their areas, ensuring all key areas are effectively covered and embed best practice finance governance policies.
  • Review and advice on investee’s DoA
  • Promote and educate cross-functional partners on the importance of internal controls.

Finance Policies, Processes and Procedures
  • Support completion of financial risk and control assessments.
  • Design and implement appropriate controls to strengthen the control environment and mitigate risks.
  • Document processes from start to finish through the collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Design and execute the testing of internal controls and facilitate the related remediation for any control deficiencies identified.
  • Develop presentations tailored to audiences at various levels and business functions to communicate internal control findings.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities for the continuous improvement of functional systems, policies, processes and practices taking into account ‘international leading practice’ in order to improve business processes, productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Provide critical input to support the development of functional systems, policies, processes, and procedures in order to meet business requirements.
  • Ensure team members comply with all functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Assist and coach process owners during times of changes to processes or controls
  • Ensure consistency of the assessment approach across processes
  • Provide increased assurance to certifying officers
  • Provide assistance to process owners as self-assessments identify gaps requiring formulation and execution of remediation plans

Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships Group Finance teams in order to advise on the implementation and deployment of the group-wide finance governance manual, resolve issues and provide implementation guidance as required.

Group Finance Initiatives
  • Collaborate on and contribute towards the development and delivery of group-wide finance initiatives and projects in order to continuously improve group-wide financial capabilities and enhance the effectiveness of Mubadala’s finance practices.

Outsourced Finance activities
  • Responsible for transactional related processes that will serve as a basis for the Finance function of Mubadala to perform their functions and activities
  • Design and implement governance and operating model to strengthen control and improve delivery.
  • Propose Key Performance Indicators to SVP – FGR in order to implement tracking tool to measure success
  • Support development and track performance of KPI/ SLA to measure services effectiveness
  • Continuously review and update of responsibility matrix in order ensure compliance to DOA and risk management
  • Responsible for best practices, research, recommendations and implementation
  • Ensure controls underpinning the production of financial data are appropriately designed and operating effectively

Reporting
  • Prepare functional reports in a timely and accurate manner in order to meet Mubadala’s requirements, and the functional requirements, policies and standards.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or business administration.
  • A relevant professional accounting qualification such as CA or ACCA is required.

Minimum Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in progressively more complex and senior-level roles across finance, audit and risk functions with deep experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks across multiple sectors.
  • Preferably, experience in a large-scale organisation with complex business operations or experience working across various industries.
  • Additional relevant experience is an advantage.



Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of financial governance practices and international standards and requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of methodologies that support the development and continuous improvement of financial governance framework and operating practices.
  • Understanding the COSO framework and the components of a strong internal control environment and demonstrate their detailed knowledge of the process,
  • Being able to analyze and map processes,
  • Understanding control practices and controls assessment,
  • Knowing how to integrate IT risks and controls,
  • Develops risk assessments with application to financial and non-financial areas
  • Familiar with regulations and associated company policies related to internal controls and governance
  • Works with business stakeholders to create and help implement controls efficiently in complex environments
  • Champions proactive governance and internal control assessments while interacting with business stakeholders and external auditors
  • Develop action plans to address identified weaknesses.
  • Assess the likelihood of achieving business objectives related to ICOFR and compliance.
  • Strong technical knowledge and the ability to advice and influence key stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills.
