Commercial Accountant

This is an exciting all round Commercial Accountant position that incorporates a wide variety of accounting functions and the ability to influence within the Business. The role is based in Oxford.

Description

Analytic review of monthly results against forecast and budget and liaising with divisional finance teams to understand the business strategy and the risks and opportunities which will impact performance for the monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts, the annual five year corporate plan and the annual budget

Preparation of the Group cash flow statement and detailed working papers in support of the consolidated accounts

The control of the year end audit process, monitoring the tax compliance of the Group and deputising for Management in their absence

Preparation of the Group Consolidated Financial Statements

Preparation of statutory accounts for all of the Group's UK trading companies

Profile

Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with a strong all-round knowledge of the current technical financial reporting environment with an emphasis on UK GAAP

Practical understanding of the statutory and tax compliance filing requirements of a large group, including experience of consolidation

A background in audit practice and/or experience of liaising with external auditors would be preferable
