Job Number JREQ103714 City, ST Milan, MI This is a permanent role within the Groups International Controllership function with specific responsibilities for our two Italian legal entities. The global finance function continues to develop as the group transitions out from its previous owner, grows as a standalone operation and becomes a public company. Challenges ahead for the successful candidate include the implementation of new group financial operating processes, while ensuring continued adherence to the groups reporting timetable, maintenance of controls and a continued drive for increased quality and efficiency of reporting. Your Role The jobholder will be accountable for the effective and timely delivery of the monthly close activities and supporting the associated reporting for the business group; assisting with the production and submission of local statutory and compliance requirements and meeting the quarterly reporting requirements for the Clarivate Group. The role requires strong relationship building with business finance, corporate functions, internal & external audit, and within the shared service centre community and is critical in ensuring that all revenue, costs, commitments, assets and liabilities are accurately recorded on a timely basis. This role will provide support and control of the business units balance sheets and ensure that the financial statements reflect local and international standards as well as complying with the Sarbanes Oxley recommendations. Key responsibilities Manage the delivery of the monthly close activities for each company under remit Production of key supporting schedules for P&L and balance sheet Controllership of balance sheet accounts for all companies within remit, providing guidance on key issues and resolution to problem items in accordance with corporate SOX guidelines Closely monitoring bank reconciliations Support monthly tax compliance and filings Monthly variance analysis and explanations Manage the entire statutory process for the Italian companies Manage ad hoc projects Knowledge, skills and experience Qualified accountant (or by experience) with post qualification experience Strong financial and management accounting background Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS, Italian GAAP and preparation of Italian statutory accounts Working knowledge of Italian tax compliance Experience within a large global services organisation End to end accounting process understanding Proven ability to form strong relationships with customers and stakeholders Fluent Italian and English speaker Comfortable with working autonomously Proven ability to meet deadlines Clear and effective communicator Strong customer focus work ethic Proven problem solver Self-motivated Enthusiastic
