ACCOUNTANT- FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT

The Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA) is mandated to regulate and administer a safe civil aviation system whilst ensuring that Trinidad and Tobago properly discharges its obligations under international civil aviation agreements and treaties. The TTCAA is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person in the following position: ACCOUNTANT- FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT The incumbent will be required to provide support to the Manager of Finance and Accounting in liaising with all external auditors in relation to the timely provision of financial records for audit review. Intrinsic to the requirements of the position would be the review and update the Authority's financial and procurement records, systems and procedures. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Review all month end journals such as accruals, provisions and other journals that may be required. Ensure that all statutory requirements of reporting and payments are made on time (VAT, PAYE, Health Surcharge, and NIS). Review and update sub-ledger registers of fixed assets, customers and suppliers. Review all monthly bank, accounts payables, accounts receivable, intercompany, payroll and fixed assets reconciliations. Review general ledger postings on a timely basis for errors and/ or omissions. Review payables and receivables processes and provide recommendations to Management Prepare financial statements of the Authority in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS Standards). Manage the external audit process and facilitate all financial requirements of the Internal Audit Department. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: ACCA Member with a minimum of eight (8) years' experience in Accounting and Finance, five (5) of which must be at the supervisory level. Strong research, communication and presentation skills. Advanced knowledge in Peachtree Quantum System and Microsoft Office Suite.
