ROLE PURPOSE:

Prepare and record all type of financial transactions according to Save the Children and donors’ rules and regulations. In addition to assisting in preparing monthly financial reports and audits.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Technical Expertise:

• Track All staff advance accounts and make sure they are settled on time.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
• Review staff time sheets and make sure they all submitted on time & charged properly against grants
• Review the coding and posting of journals through the accounting system
• Ensure all transactions are supported by proper documentation according to SC regulations
• Prepare financial reports to Donors
• Monitor grant expenses on monthly basis
• Prepare and record monthly payroll
• Assist in preparing monthly financial report
• Assist in preparing quarterly effort report
• Assist and participate in the external and internal audit
• Visit and support field offices.
• Assist Account manager to prepare MFR, MMC, GIK schedule and matching reports.
• Undertake any other duty as reasonably requested by the Accounting Manager/FD

General
• Ensures adherence to the Child Safeguarding Policy and reporting procedures
• Ensure that the minimum standards of humanitarian relief are maintained in accordance with the Sphere Charter, the Red Cross Code of Conduct
• Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of crisis or emergency.
• Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures.
• Commitment to serving members and their donors, and to helping build a culture of member service throughout organization
