A award-winning IT company based in Watford are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their friendly and motivated small finance team. The company has a fantastic team culture and the successful candidate will be keen to get stuck in and be a self motivated team player who picks things up quickly with a positive 'can do' attitude.

The role will include:
  • Sales Ledger duties; raising sales invoices, manual invoices and credit notes. Sending out monthly customer statements, dealing with customer queries
  • Credit Control; chasing customer receipts, reporting to sales managers the outstanding and problem invoices on their accounts, maintaining Aged Debtors spreadsheet with up to date notes and invoices, weekly cash flow for receipts, banking cheques as received
  • Purchase Ledger; inputting purchase invoices, reconcile company credit cards, ensuring no debit balances, reconciling statements, dealing with supplier queries
  • Adhoc reports and analysis
  • General office adhoc duties

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of:
  • Previous similar experience within purchase ledger and sales ledger or have experience in one but willing to learn about the other areas
  • Already be studying towards an accounting qualification or be keen to start AAT/CIMA/ACCA
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Being inquisitive nature and strong organisational skills
  • Handling queries
  • Hands on approach
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Being able to travel to London one day per week

Benefits:

For the role of Assistant Accountant, you will get in return a salary of £25,000 to £27,000, study support, career opportunities, KPI bonus and many more. The working hours are 8.30am to 5.30pm.
