A rounded Finance role to lead a small team, focusing on the completion of monthly close processes and delivery of timely and accurate reporting.

Our client are a large, well known organisation operating in the FS and Insurance sector
Description
Key responsibilities will include:
- Day to day management of a small Finance team
- Management and delivery of the close process, including key outputs performed on and offshore for the UK and Group reporting
- Working closely with and providing challenge to other teams & functions
- Balance sheet reporting, analysis, reconciliations and controls
- Working closely with offshore teams to provide support, train and embed new processes
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement
- Query resolution, quality control and governance over outputs
- Supporting new projects and developments in relation to the close process
- Ensuring adherence to SOX control frameworks
Profile
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Have a thorough understanding of financial reporting and the close process
- Possess knowledge of financial systems & business platforms (SAP exposure is advantageous)
- Have the ability to balance a differing workload, from detailed reconciliations to senior-level engagement
- Demonstrate an excellent level of analytical and problem solving skills
- Have proven people management experience and demonstrate a personal development led ethos
- Be available to start with a maximum of one months' notice from offer stage
- Experience working in the FS and/or Insurance sector could be advantageous, but is by no means essential
- Prior knowledge of SOX and associated controls will be advantageous, but is not essential
