Client Details
The client is a multi million turnover organisation based in East Cardiff that offer business services and consumer services.
Free on site parking.
There will be some travel involved as we are looking to resurrect the internal audit function across the group of companies with businesses in Cardiff and across the UK. We anticipate that audit testing will make up about 20% of the role. Excellent communication skills at all levels throughout the business and a process minded approach are therefore essential qualities. Previous audit experience would be preferable but not essential as long as the individual has an eye for fine detail.
Description
The role
Support all aspects of the accounting cycle including month end, year-end, financial statements and annual audit for the group
Internal audit testing and reporting across the group.
Use Excel to produce meaningful financial information in flash report format to present on a monthly and adhoc basis to management
Prepare financial analytical reports, charts, tables and other exhibits as requested using Excel to present to senior management and the board.
Aim to improve financial status by analysing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends and recommending actions in a supporting role to the non-executives.
Perform special projects to improve process efficiency and carry out performance projects as assigned by management
Work closely with non-finance managers across the business to ensure sound decision making
Assist with company secretarial duties.
Carry out financial administration as required - for example, arranging funding for various related businesses.
Investigate and report to management on any inconsistencies or improprieties in the financial information provided by other parts of the business.
Responsible for providing analytical support and management information to various business units
Other adhoc project work to support the various companies and non-executives from a financial perspective
Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
Profile
Ideal candidate:
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA part qualified
- Educated to degree level
- Management accounts experience (MINIMUM 3 YEARS)
- Audit experience is ideal but not necessary
