Key Accountabilities

Key Activities

Strategy implementation and operational management
  • Participate in the development of the Follow-up and ICD investees function strategy in developing a strategy for the Internal Audit department budget and Audit planning processes
  • Create and implement actionable Follow-up and ICD investees function short to medium term operational plans and budgets with operational KPIs linked to the department strategy
  • Co-ordinate the Follow-up and ICD investees function activities so that it effectively utilises its resources, manages its priorities, and is able to be both responsive and proactive
  • Manage, monitor and evaluate the Follow-up and ICD investees function’s on-going performance and quality of its outputs and services, identifying and initiating actions for improvement and innovation
  • Build and develop productive inter-Functional working relationships within ICD and with external partners for joint working and knowledge sharing
  • Formulate functional budgets in conjunction with departmental & organizational budget, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence
  • Technically oversee the development of annual work program for the function

Audit planning
  • Define audit scope in order to identify the operations related risk areas, management processes and internal controls for the for Investee Companies;
  • Lead the preparation of audit plans for the for Investee Companies
  • Coordinate and interface with the external and government auditors of Investee Companies in order to plan individual audits and for information gathering purposes

Internal Audit Policy & procedures
  • Develop and Maintain risk-based audit procedures for all functions for Investee Companies
  • Review management processes and internal controls in the Corporation and assess the adequacy and effectiveness for ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures, legal agreements and applicable Management plans and decisions for Investee Companies;
  • Review and assess the quality of management information systems for planning, monitoring and reporting on the Corporation’s activities;
  • Review and assess management processes and internal controls over systems development projects to ensure adequate planning, monitoring and accountability for Investee Companies

Audit operations
  • Implement the risk-based Annual Audit Plan related to the for Investee Companies
  • Oversee the execution of detailed operations audit plans for Investee Companies and ensure that the audited Departments cooperate with the internal auditors providing access to documents, reports, systems and personnel
  • Monitor the adherence to procedures, methodologies, approach and systems for Investee Companies that used in internal auditing and takes corrective action as necessary
  • Participate in high level review of the business units’ processes and activities for Investee Companies and measures effectiveness of project related activities and compliance to policies and agreements
  • Lead special audit assignments or investigations mandated by management of Investee Companies

Recommendations and Follow- up
  • Plan, execute and report on the risk-based program of work, in order to ensure that commitments to the Board, Management and other key stakeholders are achieved.
  • Maintain an ongoing view of the control environment through the monitoring/follow-up of outstanding audit issues and through ongoing partnership with executives and senior management;
  • Preparing a periodic report for Audit Committee and Senior Management on the status of implementation of recommendations for the Audit of ICD Business activities


Experience:
  • 9 years of audit experience preferably within banking or one of the Big 4 firms with at least 3 years in a senior role.
  • Knowledge of global internal audit methodologies and Shariah laws.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Management or relevant discipline.
  • Professional certification Either of CIA, CISA, CA or CPA or any relevant professional certifications.
  • Arabic is a must.
