Who we are:

We are a firm of Chartered Accountants in Gray’s Inn, Holborn, London WC1 providing specialist accounting services to mostly media and financial services clients.

Unusually, we also run a publishing company called Ryland Peters & Small Ltd (www.rylandpeters.com)

The Opportunity:

You will be responsible for the accounting function of the publishing company running everything from the purchase and sales ledgers, payroll and VAT to producing final accounts. Along the way, there is management reporting covering profitability, cash flow and ad hoc metrics.

The successful candidate will be proactive, extremely organised and have a can do attitude. Strong numerical skills are essential. You must have very good Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook skills, and a strong personality to deal with a varied range of tasks with minimum supervision. Being able to multi task is a very big requirement as you will have several tasks to deal with on a daily basis. You will have a very good knowledge of double entry.

Whilst you will primarily work for the publishing company you will have the opportunity to engage with other clients – so whilst this is a ‘commercial accounting’ role, some public practice exposure is available.

This is an opportunity to work in a small team for two qualified managers and learn a lot. For the right candidate we will provide ACCA support. We are an ACCA registered training office.

Hours per week: Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 6:00pm
