Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons who wish to be considered for the below positions in the County Government of Kwale;
A. CHIEF OFFICER (Job Group 'S': 11 Posts)
Basic Salary : 120,270 - 180,660
a) Requirements for Appointment;
i. Be a Kenyan Citizen
ii. Be a Holder of at least a first Degree from a University recognized in Kenya
iii. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and
iv. Have knowledge, experience and distinguished career of not less than ten (10) years in the relevant area
Core competencies
The following core competencies and skills will be required for the position:
a. Ability to work in multi-cultural and multi- ethnic environment and respect for diversity.
b. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
c. Being visionary, result oriented and a strategic thinker
d. Capacity to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Chief Officer shall be in charge of a County Department. He/ She will be the Accounting and Authorized Officer responsible to the respective County Executive member. Other duties and responsibilities include:
i. The administration of a County Department.
ii. Implementation of policies and development plans
iii. Development and implementation of Strategic plans
iv. Formulate and implement effective programmes to attain Vision 2030 and sector goals
v. Promote national values and principles of governance and values and principles of public service.
